They are in a continuous process of transformation. At first Jakub, Witold, Filip and Dawid were playing guitar-driven indie rock. The live version of the song “Red Sky”, recorded at a Sofar Sounds’ event, came from this period. When Jan joined the band they began transforming their sound, influenced by art rock, neo-psychedelia and classic progressive rock. Now Giss is a fusion of acoustic, electric and electronic sounds inspired by artists such as Radiohead, Tame Impala and King Krule. Ostinato guitars cut through a wall of chords, Latin rhythms interweave with elements of grunge, and the vocal lines move smoothly between mellow and more emotionally charged sounds.
